(More customer reviews)I did my brakes about 8 years ago with the G2 Epoxy paint system. The thing that really impressed me about the coating material is the resistance to brake dust. After all these years, the brakes are relatively clean without any cleaning.
The coating material easily results in a shiny finish (three coats). Good preparation is necessary - use the enclosed brake cleaning fluid. If the brakes are fairly old and encrusted with brake dust, you may want to buy more cans of the stuff from the auto parts store if needed - don't skimp on the preparation. Use wire brushes if needed to clean all the little crannies.
Although I have seen pictures of painting done while the brake calipers are attached to the car, it's best if you can remove them from the car (do this only if you are capable of properly refilling the brake fluid and bleeding the brakes) or at least dismount them from the suspension mount and hang them to avoid immediate contact with any other brake parts. Alternatively, take the time to mask all parts not to be painted.
Mix only the amount you can apply within the working time for the product. It is a two part epoxy and will harden over a short period of time.
